She did a really nice cover of "Fever" at the Hollywood Bowl recently! Sounds great here. Loads of G3s and A3s with a few belted B4s towards the end She also performed "Is That All There Is?" with Debbie Harry. G3s and A3s throughout. F♯3 at 4:22. Also something around E3/F3 at 2:11 and 3:59 She sounded great with Fever

She not a mezzo and neither is Mariah 😂 Mariah and Billie are both light lyric sopranos. I don't agree about 'light-lyric' but soprano for sure. What would you say she is?

I don't agree about 'light-lyric' but soprano for sure. What would you say she is? Just a regular soprano with underdeveloped chest register that relies on very light phonation.

She sounds more like a soubrette to me. But I respect your opinion. She's some type of soprano at the very least. Definitely not a mezzo or an "alto". Her timbre is much too light for that.

I'm kind of surprised by how many blue notes there are above B4.

I'm kind of surprised by how many blue notes there are above B4. Really? Her initial USP was her soft, whisper like singing to the point where people didn't think she was capable of any full voice high notes.

I dont think this is the most important on pop singers, but lemme say she is mezzo-soprano. She is a great singer already, but her higher notes are a lit bit more uncomfortable than her lower ones. You can check this while hearing 'everything I wanted' song. I would say she is an alto, just like as mariah carey is. Both are mezzo soprano(yeah, mariah is also mezzo soprano). Great singers. I doubt she's a mezzo tbh.

I’m sorry but this makes no sense. You cannot be a mezzo and an alto at the same time. We tend to not use voice types anymore on this site because of the confusions it creates, thus, this is not to be discussed here, but Billie would be a soprano, not a mezzo, and certainly not an alto; her low notes are super breathy and she’s naturally uncomfortable singing below G3. Billie's a soprano. Believe it or not, not every soprano can belt up to the upper 5th octave. Specifically I would call her a Soubrette, which is a kind of soprano that has a VERY bright tone but a lower tessitura. If you want another example, Taylor swift is also a Soubrette (I'm assuming we're talking about vocal types and not choir vocal types. If this is the case, alto isn't a vocal type.) I know this isn't the place to talk about it, but I'm just making a clear comment here. Agreed somewhere between soubrette and light-lyric soprano. I'm 99.9% sure she's not a mezzo, and she most certainly is not a contralto.
