Vocal Range: G2 - F♯5
{Vocal Summary}The man behind Tame Impala, Kevin Parker has been a key artist in psychedelic rock for more than a decade now. Though earlier in his career he sang with a more belty, grunge-esque delivery, Parker as a vocalist nowadays is commonly associated with a heady approach that is heard within the Tame Impala discography and used to great effect to set a more dreamy soundscape within the music. Parker's tone tends to draw similarities to that of the late John Lennon, a vocalist who was likely very influential to Parker as he was finding his sound musically. However, Parker tends to brighten his tone a fair amount as well, the contrast between this and his more "natural" tone being heard on tracks such as "Sun's Coming Up". Parker has yet to fully master the vocal style he's adopted, having run into vocal issues along the way and oftentimes lip-syncing live. That said, the style he has developed both as a vocalist and a musician altogether has made for a sound that has greatly influenced rock music throughout the 2010s, and one that will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
