Bink and I were collaborating on a new Elton John thread a while ago, but it was never really finished by either of us. Assuming he has no objections, I'd like to remake the entire thing from scratch. If nothing else, it'll give me a good chance to go through Elton's discography again.

I do kinda have objections, the main one being this is tremendously unnecessary and I would like to not restart the thread from scratch thanks. I’m presuming just any notes you do find that’s new just tag and I can add them into the original thread. Because we do not need to start the entire thread from scratch again. |

Yeah, restarting threads from scratch is generally only necessary if the previous thread is REALLY a mess, which I don't think is really the case here with the Elton John thread. Otherwise, I'd rather you just use the old research as a starting template (crediting the original owner for it ofc), fix anything that you spot is wrong with it, and add in whatever additional missing notes you end up finding from there.
There was a period a few years ago where we made restarting threads from scratch the default any time someone took over a thread, and it really accomplished nothing besides wasting notewatching energy that could've been used on making new threads or remaking ones that actually needed it, or more often than not there were a lot of rarity notes that had been featured in the previous versions of the thread that got overlooked and forgotten about during the remaking. The latter particularly annoyed me because remaking threads to have LESS information is just counterproductive on every level.
