this is maybe pushing the limits of what this thread is dedicated to talking about but Andrew WK's discography pretty much runs the gamut on album cover quality.
there's like quasi-graphic blood in some of these so fair warning
{Iconic}  {visually interesting and well-painted}  {umm.}   {why does he look like that}   Also I hate to bring up Disturbed for the sake of not having to remind myself of their music but this cover is too comedic to me to let go unmentioned {foreskin head}

I love Pantera, but they've had some questionable album covers over the years  Great album but wtf is supposed to be happening here?  Who is this weird cat creature? And what happened to their genitals?  Sums up the state of Pantera at this time in the bands history. Okay some other bands  This mudvayne album is pretty damn good, but the album cover is a mess. I get what it's going for (I think), but it looks super messy and chaotic. Okay here are some of my favorites:  Represents the music perfectly and is super well drawn  Not sure what is happening but it looks cool  Last one, super spacey and trippy shit. |

Deathconsciousness is a cropped and darkened section of a painting called "The Death of Marat". The guy in the bathtub was a French revolutionary who was assassinated by one of his ops
apparently he had a skin condition and so did most of his work in the bath, hence why there's so much going on in the painting

The cover for Voids actually depicts the same scene from a different angle and with the assassin present, but it's a different painting by a different artist. that one's called "Charlotte Corday"
