Indie pop darling Ingrid Michaelson could probably best be described as "one of those singers you've heard before but you're not quite sure where". Her mainstream career began in 2005 with her self-released debut album, but from then she's had a fair few sleeper hits including the endearing "The Way I Am" and the upbeat "Be OK". Though she writes herself off as "not that good" musically, her simple, charming songwriting and honest image make her a musician you'd struggle not to warm to.
On the surface, Ingrid's voice is a relatively plain one; her biggest hits are focused mostly in her mid-range and don't really showcase the true extent of her vocal capabilities. A light mezzo-soprano, Ingrid's voice is in fact a far more versatile one than you'd immediately assume, possessing a surprisingly adept head voice (which she can jump into effortlessly as heard in "You and I") and a rather solid lower register. Though she doesn't focus too much on her vocal capabilities per say, her voice is an incredibly heartwarming and talented one.

1. Questionable brevity.
2. Questionable identity.
3. Questionable low notes (weak, spoken, fry, etc.).

Questionable notes are any notes of questionable significance. In short, this spoiler acknowledges notes that I am aware exist, but do not want to contribute to the singer's range. These involve (but are not limited to) notes of questionable identity, notes of questionable legitimacy and notes of significantly poor quality.
