This thread will be used to vote for the categories in the upcoming round, and as an index for past and present polls so you can return here if you can't find the present poll or if you want to remind yourself of past polls. To help everyone aptly prepare their clips I've made a spoiler box containing all of the potential categories that might come up during the Clip-Off, and a spoiler box of all the participants eligible to vote on this thread. Both will be edited accordingly as potential dropouts occur (don't you dare) and categories are spent.

Only those who have submitted their teams in the Sign Up thread are eligible to vote.

• If you have queries as to what some of these categories mean, fear not. I will have a definition ready for each category when a poll for voting for them comes up, so you know what you're getting yourself into.
• This thread may be used if you have any new categories in mind (or just general recommendations or queries concerning the categories) that you feel might work for the contest.

Best Early Career Performance: Any professional performance up to and including the first 20% of the singer's adult (18+) career.
Best Transition From Low to High/High to Low Singing: Depending on the placement of the singer, indeed, a transition from either low to high or high to low singing. Or both.
Best Usage of Dynamics/Volume: Manipulating vocal volume and/or tone from the other end of the dial to the other.
Best Vocal Cover: A performance of a song originally by another artist.

Just a reminder that these will be the categories appearing in Round Two:

Best Usage of Chest Voice: A performance that showcases as many facets of the singer's chest voice as possible. The clip doesn't have to be exclusively chest voice but the more expansively one's chest register is utilized in the performance, the more appropriate it is for the category.
Best Usage of Head Voice/Falsetto: A performance that showcases as many facets of the singer's head voice and/or falsetto as possible. The clip doesn't have to be exclusively head voice but the more expansively one's head register is utilized in the performance, the more appropriate it is for the category.

Apologies for the delay on this, but just a reminder that these will be the categories appearing in Round Four:

Best High Singing: A performance that places particular importance on singing high notes. Relative to the singer. The clip doesn't have to be exclusively high singing but the more high notes are utilized and the higher they are (relative to the singer), the more appropriate it is for the category.
Best Low Singing: A performance that places particular importance on singing low notes. Relative to the singer. The clip doesn't have to be exclusively low singing but the more low notes are utilized and the lower they are (relative to the singer), the more appropriate it is for the category.
Best Usage of Mid-Range: Singing that's made interesting despite (or perhaps because of) not placing particular importance on either high or low notes. There are no concrete thresholds to mid-range, but your best bet is to try and gauge whether the singing sounds mid-rangy.

Best Melismatic Singing: The singing of successive notes that are represented with the same syllable each time.
Best Usage of Scales/Arpeggios: Vocals that use a particular scale or chord in order to go up and/or down.
Best Vocal Slide: The singing of a portamento or glissando between two notes without a break in between.
Most Pleasant Tone: Affecting a satisfying tone in order to sound pleasing to the ears in one way or another.
