Hello!! I have never really posted on here before, but I was watching a recorded stream of Coldplay's recent "Iheart ALTer Ego" performance and I think I found a C6. youtu.be/EFEaqMdEs9Y at 7:50 during Clocks I don't know if it counts and it could be a lower note like B5 or Bb5, but I found it interesting. I've been listening to Coldplay ever since 2007, and I believe that's the highest note I've ever heard Chris sing. |

Yeah it's way too short and uncontrolled I'm sorry  However, on another note, the C6 from "Pour Me" is actually not that bad, I mean, it does have a purpose in the context of the song and at least is not just a random yelp. What do you guys think? (used to be included) I know I just joined Range Planet, but the fact that Chris has hit C6 multiple times suggests consistency. Oddly enough I think this because this thread counts the E2 in My Universe. Both are very brief notes but display an ability and understanding on thier respective pitches. (Also not to generalize that this adds to the case, but both times he has sung C6 it's been in the modal key of the song.) |

It's sustained for a second and it's fully in the chord being played. I could see it being in italics but it sounds like a decent B4 to me |

About all the other random yelps, I mean, if we are not including Pour Me - C6, I would say the same concept applies. Heck yeah, glad to finally have a finished 4th octave lol |

(used to be included) Responding to this: -Personally and listening them again I'd count at least the one note previous to the C, (Bb5 i think? though i marked that as an B on the video looool) and probably the C6 honestely got as well enough control to keep it. Don't hear an inconsistence, break or something wrong along that two final notes, just the fact he's struggling for getting that high pitch. I'd say the quality is pretty decent for his area, and comparing them with his D2s (countables IMO as well) they are very bad quality notes and appalling examples of his capable low register, but they still get that minimum consistence into a vocal running to count. I think if that D2s could count then tha Bb5 and the C6 from "Pour Me" as well should. |

I hate the tone of those notes a lot which makes me hesitate to give them an endorsement. Thing is, if you were to count those notes, then you would also have to count the Bb5 from "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love". That's got a ramp up and to me sounds a better note than what's in that Pour Me performance.

Going through Ricky Gervais' and David Brent's material just now and came across this song that Chris Martin features on (singing starts at 2:14). Has F4s, G4s, Bb4 and a G#2 in the last chorus repeat. There are full voice G#4s being sung in the second half of the outro but I'm not sure they are Chris. The entire outro is a parody of Coldplay songs and the 'Ohs' are rather like those found in Viva La Vida which are sung by the drummer.

I think there's a G4 here by Chris but its hard to hear him over Noel. He kind of backs out of the note every time is arrives.
