The frontman/only constant member of all-acoustic post-grunge band Days of the New. He possesses a fairly haunting, sincere voice that alternates between a grungy baritone croon and a very Morrison-esque gritty higher tone. While often considered one of the definitive users of the infamous "yarl" vocal style made famous around the late 90s (as a certain Henry Rollins especially credited him for along w/Scott Stapp), this is really only present on the band's first & most famous album, which can be more attributed to his young age at the time (being 17 when the album was recorded) and the growing development of his own vocal style, as the second album features him using a slightly more natural timbre and completely done away with on the third, which by far features his most powerful and engaging vocal performances. His high range in particular went from being fairly raw and underdeveloped to a much more agile and melodic state (listen to "Dope Road" to hear some especially surprising high singing from him). Unfortunately, his temper and substance abuse has led him to postponing the release of any new material he seems to have developed, a shame as his presence & songwriting abilites definitely still have the potential to be well utilized.
