i think we should just acknowledge that chino moreno is never getting a range expansion (probably a range destruction knowing that c6 is an inhale) and any note above a5 will probably just be an inhale because it's all he knows how to do at this point. What I don't get.. I know this is truly an old hat as topic but why are the restrictions so strict with some singers and very loose with others ? Maybe I am too loose as well but I'd definitely count the notes onemorelight17 posted. It just happens to be his style and not everyone can pull it off the way he does.

Quick but solid scream to F5 there! What I don't get.. I know this is truly an old hat as topic but why are the restrictions so strict with some singers and very loose with others ? I agree that it does seem a bit inconsistent, it's sparse on hyperlinks so I only have the C6 link for reference, but the technique is similar to the other very high screams posted by onemorelight17. Outliers that I found interesting were the G5 in "Elite" (Reading 2011) and the E6 in "Elite" (2017) which seems to use more of a traditional falsetto technique.

I think it's solid if not the most representative of him as a vocalist, but I've definitely heard much shitter held in better esteem in other threads Though I understand that standards vary between contributors.

I feel like this thread is kinda trying to gaslight people into thinking Chino is a legitimately bad singer

That E6 is the only 6th octave note that I would count from Chino. Really far from being a good note but is worthy to count I guess.

I’m getting a G♯6 on the first video. The second starts with a G6 (green), then there are a couple E♭6 squeals (blue) and an F♯6 (green). I’m quite sure those aren’t overtone screams.
On a different note… since there are so many inhale notes on Chino’s thread, it might be worth giving him a [6] questionable category for those. I’ve seen that on Mike Patton’s thread and it helps a lot with categorisation.
