Daniel Håkansson
Vocal Range: E2 - G5
Associated Acts: Diablo Swing Orchestra (2003-present)
{Vocal Summary}Despite the fact that he has stated in interviews that he considers himself "more of a songwriter than a guitarist, and more of a guitarist than a singer", Diablo Swing Orchestra bandleader Daniel Håkansson is a genuinely solid vocalist. Though he has tended to take a decidedly secondary role when it comes to lead vocals (with the possible exception of their third album Pandora's Piñata), Håkansson has shown a fair bit of versatility in his few appearances. Largely singing in a smooth tenor croon reminiscent of a lower-placed Matt Bellamy, he can also pull off strong belts, good screams, and even a goofy yet solid country-style low register. Though his voice tends to be a bit more imprecise in a live setting than in studio, he's still quite an interesting vocalist, and one who will hopefully have a more prominent lead vocal role in the band's future output.
