{Description}Ezra Koenig is the lead vocalist/guitarist of the world renowned NYC based (indie rock? indie pop? world music? who cares) band Vampire Weekend. Since their first releases amid the late 2000's, the band's garnered millions of followers with their cohesive blend of diverse styles, tightly polished production, energetic pop songcraft and Ezra's attention grabbing vocals.
Ezra's singing voice is relatively light and mid-to-high placed for a male singer, though his range is more middle placed than some may initially notice. He displays comfort and agility in full voice around the middle to upper 4th octave, being capable of extending up to tenor high A with slight strain. Any higher notes are typically falsetto, with scarce exceptions such as his shouted yet powerfully controlled high Bs in "Hannah Hunt". His falsetto register is very solid when used, sounding very capable in the lower to mid 5th octave. Ezra also makes almost as much usage of his lower register as well (his notably lower speaking voice also contrasts with his seemingly high placed singing voice). Many of his songs feature lower 3rd octave notes, with some pretty consistently decent use of upper 2nd octave notes ever since VW's 2nd album Contra.
