{Poll Open Until 29 Sep 23:59 UTC}Best A Cappella Singing: Singing without instrumental accompaniment. The singer can be accompanied by other voices, however.
Best Early Career Performance: Any professional performance up to and including the first 20% of the singer's adult (18+) career.
Best Melismatic Singing: The singing of successive notes that are represented with the same syllable each time. Oh yeah, and the singing is supposed to be legato (as opposed to staccato), obviously.
Best Vocal Duet: Two lead singers singing either in harmony, unison or taking turns.
Best Vocal Opening: A passage that starts off the song's vocal part.

Bear in mind that you can only vote for one category at a time!

Best Fast-Paced Singing: Phrasing as many words in quick succession as possible.
Best High Belting: Utilising one's chest and mixed voices to reach powerful high notes. Heady mix is acceptable too, but the chestier it sounds and the more 'ring' it has the better.
Best Usage of Dynamics/Volume: Manipulating vocal volume and/or tone from one end of the dial to the other.
Best Vocal Ending: A passage that ends the song's vocal part.

Best Diction: Affecting a specific type of delivery to words in phrases (like playing a character) and/or just singing through a particularly difficult passage while keeping the lyrics understandable.
Best Lyricless Singing: Singing while not uttering words, but using nonsense sounds and vocalisations.
Best Usage of Vibrato: Singing that favours tremolo of the voice in order to add, for example, emotion, richness or gravitas to the performance.
Most Pleasant Tone: Affecting a satisfying tone in order to sound pleasing to the ears in one way or another.

Just a reminder that these will be the categories appearing in Round Four:

Best High Singing: A performance that places particular importance on singing high notes. The clip doesn't have to be exclusively high singing but the more high notes are utilized and the higher they are (relative to the singer), the more appropriate it is for the category.
Best Low Singing: A performance that places particular importance on singing low notes. The clip doesn't have to be exclusively low singing but the more low notes are utilized and the lower they are (relative to the singer), the more appropriate it is for the category.
Best Usage of Mid-Range: Singing that's made interesting despite (or perhaps because of) not placing particular importance on either high or low notes. There are no concrete thresholds to mid-range, but your best bet is to try and gauge whether the singing sounds mid-rangy.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

So, I never posted a poll when I should have done, because sometimes I just have to fuck up majorly just to make sure I'm alive.

I would like to have an opinion from as many of the contestants as possible, as soon as possible. The options are:
1. Still have the normal four-day voting cycle.
2. Do a round of prefixed categories, akin to the ones we had last Clip-Off. The categories would be Best Singing Spanning an Octave or Less and Best Singing Spanning Two Octaves or More.

If over 50% of us vote one over the other, we will be on with that the next day as soon as we hit that threshold. I am personally in favour of option 2.

Best Soft Singing: A performance which particularly emphasizes soft or tender vocals.
Best Sustained High Note(s): A passage wherein any sustained high note - relative to the singer - is sung.
Best Usage of Scales/Arpeggios: Vocals that use a particular scale or chord in order to go up and/or down.
Best Vocal Cover: A performance of a song originally by another artist. The point here is not really to compare the two versions, but the cover itself to be impressive enough to stand on its own.
