One of The B-52's leading ladies. Kate Pierson contributed her vocals, keyboards and personality to each of the group's offerings along with being arguably the band's most consistent live performer. As far as her vocal talents go, along with being my personal favourite, she was almost certainly the best singer technically of the three within the group. While Fred and Cyndi's performances were reliant on their charm and erratic nature, Kate's vocal performances were less chaotic yet remarkably no less impressive; a clear soprano, Kate stood out in the group because of her seamless harmonising with Cyndi (often taking the lower harmony despite being the higher-placed singer), occasionally theremin-esque head voice and excellent vocal perseverance, being the oldest singer in the group by some margin yet somehow also being the one whose voice has held up the best today. She may not have been absolutely exempt from some of the group's more zany vocal antics, of course, but considering she can still hit the sixth octave notes in "Rock Lobster" in her 70s, I'd say her vocal talents are definitely not to be as overlooked as they have been.
{A Few Examples of Her Voice}
A great performance for the band in general to be honest, but Kate's harmonies and head voice high notes are always impressive.
This album as a whole gave Kate more solo vocal performances - this is one of my favourites.
A late career cover, but you'd never guess Kate was nearly 70 here considering her high notes.

Questionable notes are any notes of questionable significance. In short, this spoiler acknowledges notes that I am aware exist, but do not want to contribute to the singer's range. These involve (but are not limited to) notes of questionable identity, notes of questionable legitimacy and notes of significantly poor quality.
