I'm not gonna get into a voice type debate here, but I'll say this - despite Michael Kiske being the Helloween singer who's known for having a higher tessitura, I was surprised to discover that Kiske's voice actually sounds deeper and more resonant in his low range than Deris' these days. Obviously Deris has lower recorded notes, but Kiske really seems to have a nice boomy warmth in his second octave that I don't hear as much of from Deris. Yep, Kiske is a baritenor. Was a high baritenor and now is a low baritenor. Kiske has unique voice with seamless timbre in the whole range. |
