Jinx Dawson is the lead singer of American hard rock band Coven. Famous for their then-taboo image, their songs frequently contained references to witchcraft and Satan. Jinx has been the sole consistent member of the group since its formation, and it'd be hard to imagine it without her. Her gritty belting, her bewitching stage presence and her status as a pioneer in heavy metal music are not to be overlooked. Jinx's voice is a remarkably distinctive one. Despite her relatively heavy tone, her upper register - consisting of harsh belts and (surprisingly) well-controlled whistle register screams - gave Coven's songs a dark feel. Though Coven have largely been ignored over other influential groups like Black Sabbath, their legacy is not to be understated, as Jinx in particular spearheaded a lot of what is now known and loved about heavy metal music.
{A Few Examples of Her Voice}
Great gritty highs.
Some of the most impressive screams I've heard!
A more restrained performance showcasing her lower register.

1. Questionable representativeness/brevity.

Questionable notes are any notes of questionable significance. In short, this spoiler acknowledges notes that I am aware exist, but do not want to contribute to the singer's range. These involve (but are not limited to) notes of questionable identity, notes of questionable legitimacy and notes of significantly poor quality.
