This guide serves as an explanation for our usage of Warning Levels on repeating offenders of our Rules and Guidelines. So, if you've got a PM from one of our staff saying that your Warning Level has been raised, this is the thread to resort to if you have any questions about the ramifications of your offense and what to expect going forward. This thread may also function as a general guideline for our moderators and administrators to help them gauge what kinds of reprimands they're supposed to be dealing to offending users.
There's a percentage system we use to keep track of how serious and how frequent violations have been by the user in question. As a rule of thumb, the level increases incrementally, but the percentage will depend upon the severity of the violation:
10%: If you've been caught deleting your posts, or spamming/trolling, this is the Warning Level you've been most likely assigned. This is for first-time offenders and only a nominal reminder to check yourself when conducting yourself on the forum.
25%: If you're an especially inflammatory offender of the 10% criteria, or if you've been caught harassing other users and violating the language etiquette laid out by the Rules and Guidelines, this is the next step in your Warning Level. This is for either serious enough first-time violations or repeating offenses of the first criterion, and the point when we start paying special attention to your posts.
33%: Repeating offenses of any and all the above criteria will earn you this Warning Level and a week's ban from the forum.
50%: If you still haven't cleaned up after your previous warnings, or if you've committed a serious enough first-time violation, your Warning Level will be raised up to this point and your ban will be increased up to one month. First-time offenders of this degree are getting into stuff like proper hatemail now, and there might be a reason to suspect you might not be totally in control of your own impulses.
66%: You have to basically try to be an ass to get here and up on your first go. Double accounting to support your own views and/or posting long-winded rants about how much you hate minorities will earn you this Warning Level and a three months' ban from the forum.
75%: Continuing offenses of any and all the above criteria will earn you this Warning Level and a six months' ban from the forum.
99%: You've either inexplicably managed to persist with the above offenses, or you've completely doc-dropped all of another user's personal information, and/or posted pornographic or violent material. While you're going to have to do a bit of work to earn our trust back, a second chance will be given once you've taken your mandatory one year's break from the forum.
100%: You're gone. Probably forever. This will happen if you've either created a sock account to evade a ban or went back to your old habits after suffering through all of the above criteria first.
..................................................
*Do note that these criteria do not apply to spam and/or bot accounts, as the staff reserve the right to delete them and their posts without further notice.
Now, as far as I'm concerned this is an extremely lenient system. The reason being that I believe everyone deserves a chance to grow as a member of the forum, and letting your mistakes define your presence will be no one else's fault but yours. So, if you're worried about your prospects on the forum, almost any Warning Level can be overcome and even diminished with good enough future conduct; as they say a good apology is better behavior.
I hope that answers any warned users' questions, and I hope it also gives some direction to Staff as to what they're enforcing with their Warning Levels. If there's anything you feel I left out, feel free to ask below. If for one reason or another you either don't have an account or can't access your current one, you can reach out at our official staff email singershubstaff@gmail.com.
