I've decided to make this thread because I don't see really any talk about genres here and I wanted to do something about that. Now, admittedly, I've met a lot of people in this community who just genre labeling or genres at all for that matter, which is fine. If you just think of genres as the upmost well known and basic ones that's fine. I just wanna document some of the strange genres/subgenres I've stumbled upon.
The first one I would like to point out would be "Diva House" which is literally just house music but gay. It features prominently female vocals (not all the time though), four on four beats, and breakdowns. Many songs usually talk about LGBTQ+ culture and other progressive themes. The termed was coined around the 90's after what would be now known as the genre started to play around gay bars/clubs. Here's some examples:

Alright after all the... shenanigans that went on this thread I think it's reasonably to get back into topic Death 'n' Roll is subgenre of death metal that combines hard rock riffs with certain characteristics (most notably death growls) of death metal. Other influences that are common throughout are blues rock, stoner rock, garage rock, grunge, and groove metal. It used to be somewhat popular in the 90's with mainly bands like Entombed, Gorefest, and Six Feet Under really pioneering the scene but it has kinda shriveled into obscurity with pretty niche bands keeping its spirits alive. This by far has to be one of my favorite metal genres ever through combing the groovieness of rock and aggressiveness of death metal. There's also a pretty similar genre called Black 'n' Roll that is just Death 'n' Roll but with black metal but I haven't listened to it that much so I don't think I really should a say in it lol. Anyways here's my three favorite albums: Wolverine Blues- Entombed A pretty good entry into the genre Deluxe- Xysma Very grunge and garage rock inspired, probably one my favorite finds of the year Spotify linkApple music linkFrozen in Fire- Ghostorm Takes a more technical approach, think of Death Angel and Entombed made an album together
