Peter Loeffler (born October the 19th, 1976)
Associated Acts: Chevelle (1994 - Present)
Vocal Range: D2 - G5
Vocal Type: the full 2000's Alt Metal Singer package
{What is the 2000's alt metal singer package?}You may have asked this question and in case you aren't clued in on exactly what I mean and why I think this guy is the best example of the term, here are the key ingredients to becoming the quintessential 2000's alt metal singer:
-Maynard James Keenan
-Chino Moreno when you can't do Keenan
-Jonathan Davis' almost-shitting-himself B4-D5 scream over the breakdown
-phaser effect
-be high placed but have stupidly good under-utilised low notes
-exclusively 4th octave belting over the deftones-y chord crash on the chorus (your main wea
-have way more potential to be flexible but squash your voice to the point where it sounds like you don't
-kick ridiculous amounts of ass and add an ancient war cry vocal line at least 3 times an album: you're competing with a wall of downtuned guitars after all
-get inexplicably better at belting and screaming over time and bring 100% of that energy to live performances
This is now an official voice type. Your petty tenor/baritone squabbles are now useless.
