As you all know, due to the surprising nature of the dissolution of The Range Place, we were left with a can't-believe-it's-not-the-'90s style default theme with hardly any time to fix it up. Well, I wasn't about to let that slide. After a week in the trenches of spaghetti code, you can say goodbye to that ghastly sight, as we are launching a new theme as of this post!

The theme won't be made default yet, so you can enable it through :





Now, phase one will involve using this thread for any feedback or reporting any issues you may encounter while first using this theme. Provided there are no issues, after a period of two weeks from now the theme will be opted in as the default theme of the forum. There may also be further developments on my end if and when I feel especially up to facing the CSS again.

Hovering your cursor on it should make it open. It shouldn't be affected by either disabling Flash or even JavaScript (though results may vary for the latter).

Thanks, got it now. I know aesthetics won't be a particularly high priorty at the moment, but if you find yourself with some spare time and wanting to create additional themes at some point in the future, I'd quite like an option to have the shoutbox with the most recent comments at the bottom (as I'm used to) rather than the top.

A far more important difference I've observed on this forum is that it actually shows me when I edited my post (which I serendipitously discovered after correcting a typo). That was my single biggest frustration of the technical disadvantages of TRP3 on ProBoards (as compared with TRP2 on Forummotions) - I hated not being able, as a non-staff member, to view the dates when I'd last edited my own threads. If this improvement is your doing, thank you very much and please keep this feature.

The theme has been made default as of now! This thread will remain open for feedback, of course.

Great work on the theme, looks good for the default. But would it be possible to add the 90's proboards theme as an option again? It seems to be completely gone.

It is possible, although bear in mind that future changes to the forum's layout are going to be made around the default theme so it might not translate that well into the old one.
