Being the virtuoso drummer for Mastodon since their inception in 2000, it is perhaps no surprise that Brann Dailor was also the last of the current 3 members to take up lead vocals. Known for his ridiculous stamina for fills and complex rhythms it was no easy feat I imagine when he decided to add lead singing to his repertoire beginning with the 2009 opus that was Crack the Skye. From there on he has quickly established himself as the highest and most soaring voice in Mastodon, often demonstrating easy clean belting into the upper 4th octave. While he's evidently recorded the least sung material out of the 3 he's already delivered some of the most refined and powerful vocal performances in the band's catalogue. As this OP suggests, his lower register has received minimal use thus far but a performance like White Walker reveals some intriguing potential for his voice in that register as well.
