{Vocal Analysis}Describing Celine Dion, Freddie Mercury and Whitney Houston amongst her vocal influences, Squadrani's possesses an impressive and weighty belting register which forms the backbone of her vocals, singing with consummate ease in the lower fifth octave and regularly sustaining notes around E5 with seemingly little exertion, and even belting as high as G5 in lead vocals on occasion. Though not as of yet opting for any of the crystalline heady sound we might usually associate with the term, Squadrani has described herself as a soprano. The tone of her lower register and mid-range would suggest this is correct; although she hasn't taken a huge interest as of yet in exploring her lower register, she has showcased some enjoyable soft singing down to E3. Overall, although I would like to see her explore the different facets of her voice in a bit more depth in future, I find Squadrani's voice and technique pretty enjoyable, and is worth a listen for any fans of symphonic/power metal.

Sara Squadrani is an Italian singer best known as the lead vocalist for symphonic power metal band Ancient Bards, whom she has fronted since 2009. Prior to joining Ancient Bards, Squadrani had been involved in singing and music in some capacity for most of her life, including fronting the band 'Stay Jam'. Since the beginning of her recording career, Sara's vocals have been most notably characterised by her powerful belting range, carrying a weighty, rounded sound well into the fifth octave, and it's that along with the softness of her mid and lower range that would lead me to categorise her as a soprano. Sara herself lists a few of her vocal influences as Celine Dion, Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston, Giorgia Todrani, Gavin DeGraw, Stevie Wonder and Jessie J. In addition to her musical career, she is also a graduate of the University of Bologna in Building Engineering and Architecture.

[1] marks yelps and short trills in high range or anacrusis and short dips in low range.
[2] marks notes of questionable identity that cannot be confirmed to be the singer in question.
a. All of these notes can be found in choral backing vocals- there have been numerous other singers credited simply as 'choir' on all Ancient Bards albums so far, so I'm presuming these notes are not Sara- they're not really in keeping with the style she uses in her lead vocals, either.
[3] marks non-melodic notes that don't have a significant enough pitch to warrant inclusion.
[4] marks notes that possess uncertain pitch or have been pitch-shifted.
[5] marks notes that do not fit the previous criteria but are not of a substantial enough quality to warrant counting towards the singer's range.
