Adam Lopez Costa (26 August 1975 -)
Years Active: 2005 - present
Vocal Range: B♭1 - E♭8 (6 Octaves + 5 Semitones)
{Vocal Analysis}Possessing agility at both ends of his range, it is somewhat difficult to hypothethise where exactly Lopez's tessitura sits naturally, but the general timbre of his voice would back up his own assertion that his natural placement is that of a tenor. He sounds quite comfortable delving into the second octave, being able to drop down to at least G2 directly from his mid-range easily, and showing the capability to sustain fairly rounded notes as low as E2/E♭2. Below this Lopez's lower register becomes more notably laryngeal, but he has shown the capability regardless to pull a 'chesty' sound down as low as C2. Although Lopez seldom if ever makes use of any 'fry-mix' technique in his music, he has also shown the capability to produce and sustain fryish notes down to B♭1, and though not displaying the most pleasant tone, it seems fair given his ability to sustain these notes on a clear pitch to count this as part of his range. Meanwhile, in his upper register Lopez's 'chest' belting usually caps out around C5, by his own admission. Lopez rarely belts higher than this in any form in his lead vocals, but has demonstrated the ability to carry a 'mixed' sound up as high as F5. Occasionally, Lopez will also make use of a slightly weightier 'head voice', and notes of this variety I have left black in the thread, but typically, he mainly utilises soft falsetto throughout the fifth octave. Lopez himself says that this technique tends to top at C6 for him, and it is not uncommon for him to reach up to upper fifth octave notes in his own songs. His vibrato is consistent throughout his different registers, and he shows ample control over his falsetto by making features of both staccatos and melismatic runs. On occasion, Lopez has shown the ability to venture above C6 in his falsetto register, even managing to recreate the original staccatos up to F6 in his rendition of 'The Magic Flute.' The most well-known feature of Lopez's voice and the cornerstone of his famous/infamous range is his whistle register. Until 2018, Lopez held the Guinness World Record for the highest note produced by a male, an E♭8, and particularly in the earlier days of his own recording career he would add sixth and seventh octave whistles to many songs. Whether for vocal or stylistic reasons, Lopez uses his whistle register a little less obtrusively these days, but still shows the inclination and ability to produce whistles into the seventh octave. Lopez has referred to being able to produce whistle notes up to B♭8, but as of yet has not demonstrated this in either his record-setting or his musical career. To summarise, Lopez's use of his gargantuan range is obnoxious at times, but his control over his various registers is undeniable- like many a Guinness World Record holder, the mere existence of his feats all but justify themselves.

Australian singer of Spanish parentage and head of the faculty at Sheldon College's Australian School of the Arts, best known for holding the Guinness World Record from 2008 to 2018 of the highest note hit by a male (E♭8) and by extension, for his absurdly wide vocal range. He has a freakish talent to control his whistle register right up to its most preposterous reaches, and to command both ends of his range seemingly at his leisure- whether musically enjoyable or not. Lopez is a curiosity of the vocal world, no doubt, and whilst you could probably achieve a similar effect to putting on one of his albums by listening to any 2000s pop album and leaving your kettle on to boil in the background, no compendium of vocal ranges would be quite complete without him.
