Max Mobarry (17 June 1994 - present)
Vocal Range: G♯1 - C6
Associated Acts: Others By No One (2014 - present), Flummox (2021 - present)
{Vocal Summary}One of the most proudly odd, iconoclastic, and underrated musicians working today, Max Mobarry's primary mode of sonic expression is a distinctly avant-garde brand of progressive metal that draws heavily from artists such as Mr. Bungle and Devin Townsend. Like their influences, Max's voice is wide-ranging, versatile, and often aggressively quirky, seemingly making a point to jump between as many tonalities and styles as possible. They make frequent use of high tenor wails, death growls, soft mezza voce, and a bizarrely strong mix-fry register in order to keep listeners on their toes. Most notable is their prominent use of spoken word and nonmelodic exclamations as ways of punctuating phrases, and it's practically audible how much fun they have in bringing these offbeat "characters" to life. However, most every singer has some Achilles' heel, and in Max's case it's their sometimes nasal-sounding tone, which can be considered an acquired taste to some. Still, the fact remains that Max is a freakishly talented performer and songwriter who brings a considerable level of vocal prowess to any project they helm.
