Steve Cross (c. 1980 - present)
Member Of: Rescue (2006 - 2011, 2013 - 2016)
Vocal Range: C1 - E♭4
{Vocal Summary}One of the bass singers from Christian acappella group Rescue, Steve Cross had big shoes to fill when he replaced the great Tim Storms as the group's bass singer in 2006. All things considered, he did an excellent job, replacing Storms' gravel with a voice that comes among the closest I've heard to sounding like a bass guitar. Utilizing what sounds like a really well-controlled mix-fry, Cross is capable of going into the lower first octave without dipping into pure fry, and combining that tone with a bass boost makes for a potent effect. Cross has no known forays into professional singing beyond his two stints with this band, but the talent is there for a return if he ever chooses to try one.
