Nicola SeddaVocal Range: G♯1 - A7{Vocal Summary}Look, I mean, he's a good singer, man. He has some good pipes, y'know? It's just that most of his music feels like a showcase of how high the man can sing rather than actually being good songs in their own right. Especially with his last EP he released, the one with the "duet with the ocean" as he calls it. It's basically him hitting the lowest and highest notes he can, slathering some studio wizardry on them, and calling it a day. C'mon Sedda, you're better than this, man. I know you've carved yourself out some sort of niche similar to Dimash and Vitas and whatnot in the "superhuman-singer showcase" realm, but that's not going to last you forever. Look at Vitas, the man's been at it for a while and these days he lip-syncs and pitch-shifts his way through life. Is this the future you want for yourself? Written by Platypus . Significant High Notes: A7 (" The Call") G7 ( Unidentified Studio Session) F7 (" In Another Life", " The Miracle") E7 (" Colors", " The New Dawn") E♭7 (" Rebellion In Dreamland") D7 (" I Wasn't Scared", " No Compromise") C♯7 (" All By My Self") C7 (" In Another Life", " Painted On A Wall", " Sailing On a Shell", " Their Shine Inside") B6 (" Colors", " The Mirror", " The New Dawn", " The Sense Of Time") A6 (" The Call") G6 (" Back To The Stars") F6 (" The Mirror") E6 (" Back To The Stars") C♯6 ("The Mirror", " No Compromise") C6 ("Back To The Stars", " I Wasn't Scared", "If I Fall", "The Miracle", "The New Dawn") B5 ("Inside") B♭5 ("I Bless You All", "In Another Life", "In My Hand", "Painted On A Wall") A5 (" The Call", "The New Dawn", "No Compromise", "Rebellion In Dreamland", "Reflections", "The Sense Of Time") G♯5 ("All By My Self") G5 ("Before The Night Returns", "Colors", "I Bless You All", "I Wasn't Scared", "If I Fall", "I'm Still Alive", "In My Hand", "The Mirror", "No Compromise", "Sailing On a Shell", "Since You Have Gone", "Painted On A Wall") F♯5 ("The Sense Of Time") F5 ("All By My Self", "In Another Life", "Inside", "The Miracle", "Rebellion In Dreamland", "Sailing On a Shell", "Their Shine Inside") E5 ("Back To The Stars", "Before The Night Returns", "Colors", "Painted On A Wall", "Reflections", "Since You Have Gone", "Sometimes") D5 ("I Wasn't Scared", "If I Fall", "Inside", "The New Dawn", "Rebellion In Dreamland", "Reflections", "The Sense Of Time") C♯5 ("All By My Self") C5 ("Back To The Stars", "I Bless You All", "If I Fall", "In My Hand", "The Miracle", "No Compromise", "Sailing On a Shell", "Sometimes", "Their Shine Inside") Significant Low Notes: E3 ("Back To The Stars", "Colors", "I'm Still Alive", "The Miracle", "No Compromise", "Reflections", "The Sense Of Time") E♭3 ("Sailing On a Shell") D3 ("Colors", "Far From Heaven", "The Mirror", "No Compromise") C3 ("I Bless You All", "If I Fall", "I'm Still Alive", "In Another Life", "Inside", "The Miracle", "The Mirror", "The New Dawn", "Painted On A Wall", "Rebellion In Dreamland"m "Sometimes", "Their Shine Inside") B2 ("If I Fall", "Reflections", "Their Shine Inside", "Since You Have Gone") B♭2 ("I Bless You All", "I Wasn't Scared", "Painted On A Wall") A2 ("Before The Night Returns", " I Bless You All", "Rebellion In Dreamland", "Sometimes") G♯2 ("Sailing On a Shell") G2 ("The New Dawn", "Rebellion In Dreamland") D2 ("The Call") C2 ( I don't know what to call this, frankly) G♯1 (" The Call") ....................................................... After this, you deserve immediate Canonization and guaranteed entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven. I remember that some years ago you couldn't find a lot of his music online, and his website actually used to state that his album Nicotomia would only be available as physical CD because alegedly "with compressed digital audio formats wouldn't be able to hear his ultrasounds". I tried the best to find that info on his website put couldn't find it. Instead, on the page of his Back to the Stars EP, you get this piece of gold in text form: "BACK TO THE STARS is be available in DIGIPACK and on all digital stores worldwide without Original Ultrasonic Vocals (Ultrasounds up to F#10). Nicola’s incredible vocal abilities still challenge modern technology and digital format trends. The Original Ultrasonic Vocals is available only as High-Quality download (WAV) on the store of Nicola’s official website, due to the impossibility of CD format, MP3 and common downloadable formats to reproduce the extremes of his vocal range. The ultrasounds recorded in the original vocal files of the song THE CALL are not available in the CD format due to the frequency limitations of the CD support". Don't hate the dude though. I actually watched that entire vocal range video you linked because I don't really value my life and there's actually some notable improvement on his vocals on recent recordings. The production definitely helps though

due to the impossibility of CD format, MP3 and common downloadable formats to reproduce the extremes of his vocal range. Sorry I don't really follow this guy but this was too weird not to notice. F♯10 is 23679.643Hz, so mp3 at 48kHz sample rate should be able to reproduce that. Also 23679.643Hz is ultrasound that literally no one can hear... did he record the vocals with a spectrum analyzer? I was wondering this myself, mp3 should encompass this but I don't wanna waste money on that shitty disc to MAYBE hear one shitty note and find out

Well, a very limited number of people can hear it under laboratory conditions lmfao. Apparently that's good enough for Sedda. Not sure myself how they'd get an extra 4000hz if human's upper limit's supposed to be 20khz approximately, 4khz doesn't seem like a small margin extra. Maybe under lab conditions some newborns with reaaly long cochlea might hear a bit higher or sth idk. Yesterday I showed this song to a friend of mine who has hearing condition that she can hear extremely high frequencies up to 25000hz and even above She said she heard the F#10 also, she said that it sounds horrible. I'm pretty sure she was telling the truth lol

Maybe you do live in a vacuum with thousands of dollars of ultrasound audio equipment though, idk first i'm not an expert and i don't know if she was telling the truth (although i'm certain about his condition) but far as i know even some normal headphones can produce frequencies above 20khz

Nicola Sedda is a very nice musician, not that high/low notes are everything that matters but reaching them is not for everyone and he sings well. Also, he did reach notes higher than A7, in The Call I remember Bb8 and D9. I don't like how so much here is about bashing the singer. Even in his videos, people only comment to talk about how Dimash is better than him. He's good too, but why compare and bash one only to exalt the other?

There's an A9 in the questionable notes for that as well as a D1. And the other I'm not sure.

He has talent obviously but it does seem like he is rangewanking sometimes. I still like his stuff tho
