thoughts on new album?

Well, it's definitely better than California and Nine, at least from a songwriting perspective.

The main thing holding the album back for me is the production. Like it actually sucks. Everything is so compressed, and the vocals sound somehow even more processed than on blink's last two albums. Songs that I'd like in theory like Anthem Part 3, Terrified or Childhood are almost completely ruined by the production. Maybe I have high standards cuz I think the original three Travis albums are some of the best produced pop-punk albums ever idk

There are some moments where the songwriting and performances are fun enough to ignore the production and at points even compliment it, like Dance With Me, More Than You Know and Edging (edit: oh and Turpentine is pretty good too). I also can't bring myself to hate the song One More Time, despite it also suffering from over-production.

Overall, it's fine, like a 6/10

yeah true. the production is a mess. there's consensus about that from what I've seen so it's not just your high standards. I still love Terrified tho. love the powerful vocals in the chorus. I've listened to that shit like 50 times in a row. It's like Watch the World meets Tiny Voices
