{best use of dynamics - ronnie radke}Like with all my singer selections this time, this was a meme-y choice, and just out of curiosity to see how well I could do with these bois. But flicking through Ronnie's discog to find a suitable clip, this performance actually surprised me in terms of how nuanced it was, going pretty seamlessly between a lilty mezza voce sound to a theatrical belt in uncharacteristic fashion. Redemption arc from scene kid icon to mature musician? Who knows, but he managed to turn one of his early career singles into something new, so here we are. 1:35-3:35
{best vocal cover - alexi laiho}Ok, no such pretenses of hidden gems here. George Formby didn't really do covers, and Children of Bodom had stacks of them, and that's why you're getting what this is. What this is is a cover of "Lookin' Out My Back Door", originally by Creedence Clearwater Revival. All I can say about it is that Alexi basically holds a melody, hitting G4s a decent few times, and manages to keep that copious level of false cord distortion consistent. 0:00-0:50
