{Vocal Summary}With a naturally deep and rich voice, Josh Turner's lower register has from the beginning of his recording career been his most impressive asset, already being capable of weighty notes as low as C2 on his first album Long Black Train at the age of twenty-five. Since then, he has continued on a regular basis to showcase the depth of his lower register, sounding very comfortable singing lengthy passages in the lower second octave such as on 'Softly and Tenderly' and managing both well-projected single notes and fair agility entering even into the first octave both live and in studio, such as on 'Deep South' and 'T.I.M.E.'. His lowest recorded note is a brief G1 live with Randy Travis.
On the higher end of things, Turner has also from the beginning of his career been equipped with a mellow and fairly comfortable belting register. Although it's uncommon for him to venture above E4, he has displayed both live and in studio some solid belts in the mid fourth octave on tracks such as 'Backwoods Boy' and 'So Not My Baby', as well as the ability to switch nimbly from melodies at the bottom of the second octave to the lower fourth octave. The few forays he's made into his falsetto register have been pleasant enough too, with fairly easy highs around C5 suggesting he may be able to push this further if he so chose.

E4 ("Everything is Fine" [1])
D2 ("White Noise" [1])
B1 ("I Serve A Savior" [3], "I'll Be There" [1a])

[1] marks yelps and short trills in high range or anacrusis and short dips in low range.
(a.) There's quite a few anacrusis dips in this song around B1-C2. I could probably be talked into counting them but I'll play it safe and put them here for now.
[2] marks notes of questionable identity that cannot be confirmed to be the singer in question.
[3] marks non-melodic notes that don't have a significant enough pitch to warrant inclusion.
[4] marks notes that possess uncertain pitch or have been pitch-shifted.
[5] marks notes that do not fit the previous criteria but are not of a substantial enough quality to warrant counting towards the singer's range.
