Primary second tenor for The Beach Boys, most frequently singing the parts above Mike and Carl and below Brian. The unsung vocal hero of the group, his tenor voice was remarkably similar to that of Brian's, and as a result he could take the high harmony parts over with great ease whenever Brian took a lead. A very bright voice, one that absolutely shines in songs such as "Cottonfields", and the voice of the remaining members that has weathered the passage of time the best.
