I would consider it countable personally.

Also, I might have missed it but has there been any discussion on this apparent F#6? It sounds solid to me, hopefully I just haven't accidentally overlooked it in the spoiler or something. youtu.be/kE32pvvaDT8

Lol having other 6th octave notes we can discuss why propose that? lol What does people thinks about this apparently E♭6 in this live version of When The Music's Over? Remember seeing someone long time ago posting in the old forum it lacks of quality to be conuted, but i hear it consistent and there's no breaks or something along the note... Is there way to be countable? NOTE: I heard the "When The Music's Over" note one is already in the spoiler (don't get an E6 BTW) and definitely this sounds better I'm definitely not an expert in terms of Notewatching. But I know the Doors quite well (my favourite Band along with the Beatles) and it sounds countable to me. Morrison always did those high pitched screams. In 68 even on daily basis.

that Eb6 would be a spoiler for me because the run down immediately after it doesn't sound controlled particularly well. Like, it's a sound he can make but not necessarily control

I dunno, I think the note stands on its own. He hits it quite powerfully and drops down, maybe not super elegantly, but I wouldn't say it detracts from the note itself. Plus, Jim wasn't exactly a classically trained singer, so he might not have known how to drop down very smoothly, not to mention it's a live performance.

Unless Doors songs on YouTube, Spotify and other platforms run lower or something, i can notice there are many mispitched notes in this thread, mainly on the high notes section: -For example, the " D5" from "Waiting for the Sun" is clearly an C♯5 and a B4 few seconds after: -The "D5" from "The Soft Parade" where's supposed to be? here??? www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YWPhmduSDQ&t=5m04s cause i don't considere it particularly countable keeping in mind Morrison vocal capabilities and would be definitely an italic note, aside that highest melodic note i found on that song is a B4 , also there's a C♯5 probably i'd bother on counting, at beggining on the spoken part (YOU CANNOT PETITION THE LORD) -The "D5" in "The End", if it's this very famous passage (don't know which other note on that song could be the alleged "D5") C♯5s is once again highest i can hear -The "C5" from "Unknown Soldier" where is? is this? cause once again not sure if it's particularly countable, and once again sounds more like an italized note to me Is the only note around that pitch on that song i got, highest sung note i hear are A4s on the bridge and on the final section (where's also has a B5 you got on the spoiler) -The B4 from "Roadhouse Blues" once again, where is supposed to be? highest passage i hear on that song are some A4s here:

Almost 3 years later (common late opinion theme of this forum), but I think both the Eb6 and the F#6 are countable. They're screamy but the way he was able to bring the note down right afterwards on both puts them out of uncountable territory, in my opinion. {Eb6} {F#6} Also if you end up putting things in questionable notes, or just as a consideration for updates, can you link some of the questionable notes in the thread?

Well, I think that kind of judgment is valid depending on each case. If there's no particular reason to erase a legit note I don't see the point to look for extra reasons to exclude it. I mean, for something the note in question has already passed the "test" for its countability before, right?
I could understand cases where this logic could actually work fine for Jimbo's thread, for example when note in question is some insignificant, or a random and poor yelp or something accompanied by many other unremarkable shouts with no much control, like random yelps and no more.
But I do think when note itself talks for its own is very different. I mean the Eb6 and F#6 are very much in focus with the essence of their respective song, we could literally say on both cases all the protagonism in those parts of each song are only those screams, they are notes with a quite highlighted and clear musical purpose imo and even they're the most important elements for the part of the song on which these are found.

I also agree. They're not great, but I would begrudgingly count them.
