The singer/bassist for King's X amongst various one off projects and solo work. A defining example of how soul and funk can fit into heavy rock and metal, dUg has proven himself to be quite the unsung powerhouse of the last 30 or so years. Possessing a powerful baritone voice that contrasts well with his other two bandmates in King's X, dUg is usually the one to take the main spotlight in the band vocally and likewise the one to show the most range and versatility, tastefully using a variety techniques ranging from Ian Gillan-esque high wailing to a more raspy & beefy fourth octave tone, with a penchant for vocal runs and embellishments not often used in his musical style. While often less utilized, his lower range seems fairly strong (primary examples being in Black the Sky, Down, and Pineapple), and seems capable of going to some surprising extremes if "Skeptical Winds" is anything to go by, although he seems to use it more for random spoken parts the closer he gets to the bottom of his range. As the frontman for one of the most notoriously underrated bands ever, dUg is a perfect suit to complete the power trio & a huge component of King' X's more "muscular" heavy material as well as the purveyor of the band's more "funky" moments, thus one of the key factors in the band's unique sound; his huge body of work also shows his willingness to experiment in other styles as well and his dedication to continue to make/play music well into his 60s shows he'll continue to persevere for hopefully years to come.

Pretty basic song all things considered but very energetic, and Dug sounds great! Lots of really strong sounding A4s.

According to Blabbermouth it was recorded analog too. Seems like the band is really proud of this one (in the KX bio they were not entirely happy with the previous one).
