Occasional lead vocalist and guitarist extraordinaire for King's X. Tabor's main vocal presence in the band is his ability harmonize seamlessly with his bandmates Jerry Gaskill and Doug Pinnick, often to the point of seemingly melding together into one voice (especially when he harmonizes with the former). When he is able to take up the lead vocal spot (whether it be King's X, his solo work or the Jelly Jam), he showcases a light, sentimental tone often likened to one of the Beatles (either Lennon or Harrison, depending on who you ask), usually making the most of his mid range while also occasionally showing some impressive belting ability (such as the end of "The Island Sea"), usually leaving the more strenuous performances to bandmate dUg. His lower range seems rather unexplored in comparison, although he has a few examples that shows it can be quite strong when he wants it to be (such as in "Gone" and "Thank God"). Besides being my personal favourite guitar player, Tabor's voice and overall presence is an essential part of one of my favourite bands, and his gradually increasing confidence vocally within his other projects show great promise to push himself even further.
