The drummer/harmony (and rare lead) vocalist for King's X. Much more understated than his other two bandmates, Gaskill nonetheless contributes to the band's musical landscape, giving added depth to their signature lush vocal harmonies, usually taking the middle harmony in lieu of Ty Tabor's more flexible high range and Doug Pinnick's weighty lower range and wailing. Nonetheless, Gaskill has demonstrated some surprising moments, particularly in his solo work which show moments of strong belting ("Never Ever Know") as well as some incredibly resonant lows ("Garden Stroll" & "Patty's Song"). While usually not given as much credit as Pinnick or Tabor in defining the "King's X sound", Gaskill definitely has demonstrated considerable skill in his own right, his ability to add to the band's huge vocal presence while simultaneously pulling off impressive drum performances is a feat in itself, and the fact his lead vocal prowess has yet to really be fully utilized makes me intrigued into what directions he may yet go into.
