{Vocal Summary}From her start as a vocalist in Angel Beats' fictional band Girls Dead Monster, to well-regarded openings and endings for such franchises as Sword Art Online, Fate, and Demon Slayer, LiSA has perhaps done more than any other artist in the 2010s to define the sound of the decade's anime themes. However, beyond the realm of anime, she is a talented singer capable of a surprising amount of stylistic diversity, from candy-coated uptempo J-pop to soaring symphonic ballads to driving, heavy hard rock.
Unifying all of these styles is her powerful voice, particularly her distinctively bright belting register that seems entirely at home in the lower fifth octave and sometimes stretches higher. Her head voice, though largely used for high layered harmonies and the occasional flip from her belting, can be quite powerful as well in the rare songs where it is used to its full potential. She is a naturally high-placed singer, as evidenced by her squeaky speaking voice and the fact her voice starts sounding low almost as soon as it drops below middle C. Her live performances are arguably her best asset, showing off incredible vocal stamina and consistency while maintaining an almost impossibly high level of energy in her stage presence throughout. Over time, her vocals have matured relative to the "cute" style she preferred early on, becoming more comfortable with her lows and adding a bit more edge to her belting, and it'll be exciting to see how she grows in the years to come.
