Eva Maria Noblezada (18 Mar 1996 -)
Vocal Range: E♭3 - E6
{Vocal Summary}
One of the most well-regarded new talents in the world of musical theater, Eva Noblezada began her career at the age of 18 performing the demanding lead role of Kim in the West End production of Miss Saigon. Best known as part of the original Broadway cast of Hadestown, Noblezada has kept herself busy with a variety of concerts and side projects to show off her powerful voice. And what a voice it is- as may be expected from a Broadway actress, her best asset is her crystal-clear and undeniably powerful belting, pulling off immense notes as high as the mid-fifth octave. She is also adept at contrasting these belts with a gorgeous softer tone, lending additional impact and agility to the writ-large emotional singing common in musicals.
For a self-professed mezzo-soprano, she's fairly high placed, with a naturally light tone that flips easily to a smooth head voice- although her falsetto is seldom used to its full potential. Her lows are somewhat odd- while she doesn't sound particularly uncomfortable or weak on notes toward the bottom of her range, often darkening their tone for effect, she hits something of a hard floor at F3. This floor is likely less due to her inability to hit those notes than it is due to the nature of the music she performs- she simply has less latitude to sing weak-sounding low notes than singers in more studio-focused genres, and thus will sing down to the lowest she can strongly project but no further. Regardless of this, Noblezada is a technically impeccable vocalist whose accolades are all quite well-deserved, and given her still-young age it'll be exciting to see what she accomplishes next.
