One of my favorite musicians, Paul Masvidal is best known as the guitarist, singer, and songwriter of progressive metal/rock heroes Cynic. He's also played in such bands as Death, Master, Gordian Knot, and his own alternative rock project Aeon Spoke.

While perhaps more celebrated for his virtuoso guitar skills, Paul is also quite a good singer. He generally utilizes a fairly light approach wherein his mezza voce and falsetto voices blend together, often accompanied by a vocoder effect. Despite this he also has the occasional more belty moments such as in Earth is My Witness or The Fisher Tale, as well as a strong low register best demonstrated on The Portal Tapes release.
