{Vocal Summary}Hailing From Rhode Island, Alexis S.F Marshall first made his way into the grindcore and metalcore scene of the early 2000's, In Bands Such As "As The Sun Sets", and some of Daughters first albums. Alexis Often Utilized a mixture of high pitched screams and death growls but has since abandoned both since the 3rd album of Daughters. After that, he incorporated a shouted approach to his singing, as he would often shout lyrics with the band's abrasive sound. He Captured The Intensity and despair the band is known for as they have received worldwide acclaim because of their highly successful album, "You Won't Get What You Want". Alexis often uses his higher more mixy register more in albums which could get all the way up to a F♯5 in songs. This Register is more used like a secret weapon and could come when you least expect it.. He normally belted around the F♯4 area but can also often go higher, even up to B4 as seen in "The Hit''. His Lower Register Is Solid but isn't fully utilized to its potential as he is shown to hit some solid G2's in "Less Sex' and even down to F♯2'. While Currently There's no new records from Daughters as of right now, Alexis vocals never fail to get me disinterested and have always had a captivating presence in rock today. Written by Smitty.

I'm kinda surprised those Less Sex notes ended up only being G2, I remember thinking "oh damn didn't expect such baritone singing on this album" when I got to them originally. Props for tackling such an intimidating vocal style and somehow getting a coherent thread out of it. :thumb:

ik we dont have voice type discussions anymore but i am not sure he's a baritone
he is more comfy with his highs up to F#5(I.E "The Fuck Whisperer") and has shown promising belting ablities in a bunch of songs with Fucking Invinciable
his lows are more or so comfy in the B2-G#2 are as often when he goes lower it fuckigngsucks like the spoiler Eb2 in "City Song" and also in the same song he seemd not very comfy hitting the G#2 in it
his G2's do have some warmth and depth and re not the worst notes ever but he also often avoids it live

Yeah admittedly one of the reasons voice types aren't used as much nowadays is due to singers like Marshall who don't use their voice in a way that's remotely relevant to traditional classification. I was using "baritone" as more of a stylistic descriptor than a classification in that instance, since the style in that track feels especially Michael Gira influenced.
