Annlouice Lögdlund
Vocal Range: F♯3 - C♯6
Associated Acts: Diablo Swing Orchestra (2005-2014)
{Vocal Summary}For a band as utterly eclectic, avant-garde, and versatile as Sweden's Diablo Swing Orchestra, one would assume that their lead vocalist would be similarly able to cover an impressively wide variety of vocal styles and ranges. One would assume wrong, however, at least during the band's first decade on the scene; frontwoman Annlouice Lögdlund largely had just one gear, and that gear was "operatic soprano". To be fair, though, she was quite proficient in that bel canto style, sitting in the fifth octave as much as the fourth and unleashing glass-shattering highs as a matter of course. And by the time of her last album with the group, she did manage to become a bit more versatile than on the debut, pulling out the occasional passable shot at jazz or pop singing in addition to her massive soprano. Still, her focus was always squarely on opera, and this came to a head in 2014 when her escalating commitments in the classical world made her unable to continue with the band. Overall, a bit of a one-trick pony, but one capable of executing that trick to perfection. Written by BassSquared .
