his speaking voice was charming Yeah he really does! He's got a performance where he sings Imagine and tells a story about him and John Lennon, and it's a really great and heart warming story. And Bowie does a really funny impression of Lennon.

youtu.be/J_4Q7lkVdAE F5 at 1:17 ? The fact that he sang multiple D6s that year makes the Eb6 more believable, doesn't it? It's definitely not 5th octave. It's countable to my ears, and I'll leave it at that. I listened to it again. And you may be right. It's actually decent.

He goes pretty low at about 55 seconds in this video, and dare I say I thought it sounded really good: This is from Heathen.

If someone is still updating this thread, a bunch of the links to bolded notes are defunct.

It could be overtones and I think I also have heard a saxophone in the background, too. But I am not 100% sure. But one thing is sure. It definitely isn't one of his back-up singers. This thread has actually made me realize how phenomenal of a singer he is, and he's been my favorite musical artist since I was about 4. So, from what I have learned about overtones from trying and mostly failing to notewatch the Kyo thread is that overtones tend to sound much wider than the note that it is mimicking would sound if hit cleanly. If the Eb6 was an Eb5, it should sound much wider than the D6 does. I've only skimmed it for high notes, and the D6's seemed to be something that a real struggle for him to hit, he pretty much squeaks them out, but the Eb6 sounds a bit too strong for that placement in his range. It also sounds bit too round for an Eb6, especially compared to the D6's. To my ears, it's an overtone, but until we can develop a greater understanding of how David's overtones sound, I suggest we leave it in the questionable section. I wouldn't want to deprive David of such a phenomenal top note until we get the facts straight on his voice. However, is it against the guidelines to bold a questionable note? Overtone or not, that Eb is spine chillingly phenomenal. This feels like the rare case of a questionable note that is unquestionably strong.

The LA show has been re-released as the live album "Cracked Actor", and the C6 definitely sounds like a thin whistle.

I never thought he could fo THAT high tbh. I really thoughr the B5 on All the young dudes is his limit.

ok but... not really sure what you're saying here since Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence was not Bowie's first foray into film, and that era of Bowie's music is widely considered amongst his worst.

I love the movie and I do actually like the album involved. China Girl is an Iggy Pop cover but never mind that. Bowie's version is much better.

Iggys version is amazing as well. And there a days where I prefer his version. But overall I like Bowies version more(if that makes any sense). But I think Iggy Pops version of Tonight is MUCH better than Bowies boring version on "Tonight". And I just noticed that someone added the E6. Has anyone found a version of the concert in better quality?
