Wow. I didn't know that, honestly. Always assumed they just had one lead vocalist with a huge range. 

Would you say that Roland is a considerably lower placed singer than Curt? When I was a kid, I always thought that "Shout" was from Depeche Mode.

For sure, for sure. Curt's A4 to C5 area is very light and effortless and his lows start very high. Roland learned how to mix during the Seeds of Love area, so that's where most of the good highs come from for him. But yeah, Curt's much higher placed.

I'd start his highs at F♯4 and lows at D3, Also someone should make a thread for Curt.
