This is Baronessa v SailorBlue in Round Six of the Clip-Off. You have five days to submit your clips, and until 23:00 BST Time November 28 to vote. November 29 is the Results Day. This is the Alt-Team Round! If you picked three singers, use any two, the other doesn't matter. If you picked two, you must use both but you have the chance for a 0.5 bonus if you sweep. The categories for Round Six are: 1. Best Sustained High Note(s): A passage wherein any sustained high note - relative to the singer - is sung. 2. Best Vocal Cover: A performance of a song originally by another artist. The point here is not really to compare the two versions, but the cover itself to be impressive enough to stand on its own. The contestants are free to post their clips, voting commences as soon as they have. Vote here. Current Vote Count: 0

{Best Sustained High Note(s): Lee Aaron - "Barely Holdin' On"}
2:48 - 4:13. This isn't just your one-off sustained passage. The way Lee doesn't just go out with one climactic bang, but a flurry of sustained legato phrases, is key in driving home the desperation felt in the last verse and chorus of the song. By emphasising those massively gritty C♯5s and actively avoiding a satisfying resolution she does not let you go, instead imparting the idea of, you might say, barely holding on. {Best Vocal Cover: Kirstin Maldonado - "Confident"}
0:08 - 2:13. Yeah, I know it's five seconds over, but I'm doing a thing here. That thing being to showcase basically the entirety of Kirstin's vocal range, or at least her regularly usable one, in a single cover. She spans E♭3 - G♯5, employing the kinds of showboating vocal dynamics that a Demi Lovato song would call for, while staying true to the unique vocal arrangements that Pentatonix have made their bread and butter.

Best Sustained High Notes: 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Timestamp to end. The main sustains here are B♭4s. However the melody gets up to B4 and E♭5 in the harmonies. Just to make it more interesting.
Best Cover: BDSM Elvis. 1:30 to 3:30. My personal favorite rendition of the song. Orville Peck (right) and Paul Cauthen (left) share the mic in a clip that would've slapped in duet. Peck gets long sustained F4s, G♯4s, and a wonderfully smooth F5. Easily better than the original imo.
