Summary:
When people think of Taking Back Sunday, one of the first things that comes to mind is Adam Lazzara's distinctive vocals. Frontman for a band that to many is an essential part of the emo scene, Lazzara's appeal to his fans is not only his singing ability but also his lyrics. One only has to hear them play live to notice the connection between him and the audience.
Lazzara is a powerful and dynamic vocalist, able to go from heavy rock screaming to softer gentler singing with ease. His high range is mostly used for belting and occasional screaming, though he has shown his falsetto register on a couple of occasions. His low range is less reliable and he often doesn't hold tone for very long if he does choose to go down that low, however he has shown the ability to reach down into the mid-second octave. While he doesn't have the biggest overall range, he more than makes up for it with how he uses it.
