Summary:
Despite having a somewhat short career, Nico Vega created a truly unique sound, which is in no small part due to Aja Volkman's distinctive vocals. Her performances on stage helped to gain them a reputation as an incredible live band, with her giving her all to every show. She can handle a diverse range of styles, from soft heartfelt ballads to wild heavy rock songs, her instantly recognisable tone being evident throughout anything she does.
Volkman regularly goes into the lower fifth octave in full voice, and more rarely goes relatively low into the third octave. She tends to stick to a upper third to mid fourth octave range most of the time though, and has not really explored the extremes of her range. Her unique voice and emotional delivery are another prime example that range isn't the be all and end all of singing.
