Ricky Gervais (25 June 1961)
Member of: Seona Dancing (1982-1984), Foregone Conclusion (2016)
Vocal Range: C2 - F5
{Vocal Summary}
Known perhaps only by those the Philippines and fans of David Brent, Ricky Gervais’ first stint in the spotlight was as the lead singer of new wave two-piece band Seona Dancing in the 80s. The bands run was limited to four songs and a single live performance due to lacklustre sales at the time of release. He would leave Bowie esque vocalisations behind and pursue a career in acting and comedy, leading to the creation of The Office lead - David Brent.
As David Brent, he sings with large amounts of distortion to reach E4 and higher in a fake crooner sort of fashion. When he is not doing that, he is sitting in his comfort range between the notes A2 and E3 with a half sung half spoken delivery. It’s loose with pitch and all over the place tone wise, but that’s largely down to the self-parody that is David Brent. The clean high notes featured in “I’m Number One” lend credence to that assertion.
Ricky may look back on his time with Seona Dancing as a “failed pop career” but it was the time he took song writing and singing most seriously. The Phillipinos certainly see it that way at least, who still love debut single "More to Lose" to this day.

a. Anacrusis
Questionable notes are any notes with a questionable significance. In short, this spoiler acknowledges notes that I am aware exist, but do not want to contribute to the singer's range. These involve (but are not limited to) weak vocal fry, uncontrolled slides, very short notes, notes hit at an ambiguous pitch and notes where it is unclear who is singing.
