Brian Butcher
Member Of: The Home Team (2015 - present)
Vocal Range: G♯2 - A5
{Vocal Summary}Through their evolution from straightforward pop-punk to the more complex, post-hardcore influenced sound they favor now, Seattle "heavy pop" band The Home Team have kept the powerful vocals of Brian Butcher as perhaps their foremost asset. In their early work, he comes across as a fairly standard pop-punk tenor, albeit one from the more vocally demanding side of the genre, with a timbre and range reminiscent of Patrick Stump or early Brendon Urie. With the diversification of their sound, however, Butcher has expanded his vocal toolbox significantly, rapidly switching from his established strong belting to falsettos, lower registers, and even the occasional harsher scream. These approaches are often layered together in octaves and intermixed between verses and choruses, different personas popping in and out to keep the texture constantly interesting. One of the most promising new singers in the genre for sure, and one well worth keeping an eye on.
