Concerning Ken vs Zach: Well... Zach basically said that parts of what Ken teaches were not sustainable and even "dangerous for the voice". Of course, it's a strong statement, and of course, it can be financially harmful to say sth like that publicly about a person who earns their money as a vocal coach... BUT a) in this case it's max. to a tiny degree, Zach has a rather small YT channel b) Ken is huge and earns a lot via a huge YT channel, his online coaching and real life coaching (and he's also involved in TV shows and stuff like that). I'm sure he's a wealthy guy, whereas Zach is most probably not wealthy at all. He's just a "normal" voice teacher at a music institute and has a rather small YT channel c) Threatening to sue someone is an ABSOLUTE no go. You just don't do that. Even if Zach's impact on Ken's reputation (that's in fact really tiny) was bigger. If you are part of the YT community, there will most probably be some kind of negative critique and you need to deal with it in a reasonable way and not run around threatening people via lawyer's letters. (And btwm Zach insulted TRP too 😄 Did they threaten to sue him? 😄 No, of course not) I can't tell who's right in the technical discussion per se. Zach has the higher education (a university or music college degree in vocal pedagogy) of the two. On the other hand, Ken is more experienced and is specialised in contemporary music and Zach in classical music (and Zach is criticising parts of Ken's teaching methods for contemporary singing). However, I would absolutely agree that Zach is more focuses on vocal health than Ken is (vocal health is kind of his main focus in singing). Anyway... I'm totally on Zach's "side" here. He seems to be a really good voice teacher (and I generally prefer Zach over Ken) and threatening to sue someone (who is much less wealthy than you) bc if some negative critique on YT is an absolute no go. Okay, I'll shut up now 😄 this is a Brendon Urie thread and not one about YT vocal coaches 😄 so I'm sorry 😊 It's cool. Most of the threads get almost no activity, I think one can handle some derailment :p. A little aside, Ken's throwing random high notes into his reaction videos annoys me a fair bit. Like, we get it man, you can sing. Even in the vids he's reacting to the greats, he just has to show how he can hit notes as high as them.

^ By melodic, I mean it's easy to identify the note. Eb2-C2-Bb1-C2. When someone do vocal fry, I find it hard to tell what note it is as it has speech-like quality. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_79FgDrCrs&t=3m12sG#5
Is it mix or mask placed head voice? Mix.

I'm not sure, but I think it's reinforced falsetto. Btw, the G#5 in Dream On sounds a little more like a mix to me than this one. But... It's reaaally hard to tell with Beebo

Wasn't convinced that it was his voice on that part alone but if you hear it in context from like 2:10 you can hear that it's consistent with the rest of the backing melody. Lots of high notes there.

The song seems like a studio version, so probably he recorded the main melody and high notes separately.

he layers the vocals ,recording it seperately then adding it on to each other. who are you telling this to? No comment here suggests a failure to understand how recording vocals works.

jaredletoisbackagainYou do realize you're responding to 2 separate users, right? No one's trying to sit you down for lectures. They're just mostly theorizing or trying to explain the clip between one another. Yes? What makes you think I confused them?

jardletoisbackagin you said you don't think he record two voices at once, I was just explaining it to you, it's not that big of a deal 1899 said that Brendon probably recorded the lead and backing vocals separately and I replied sarcastically because it's hard to do it any other way.

By ‘probably’, I mean the only way to make it happen is recording those two things separately. I should’ve worded it better lol.

It's Christmas www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9WBIXH6lmI0:56 D5 mix voice 0:59 E5 mix or head voice? The other high notes were already mentioned in OP. Last Christmas www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQRK5CqdrcM1:48 B5, A5 www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBDUbdn_GHQI Love Rock n Roll 2:46 A4, G#4 3:00 E2, F#2 - A2 or E3, F#3 - A3? I have a hard time telling this one. Billie Jean 3:02 F2, C2, Eb2, F2, Eb2, C#2, Bb1, C#2I think it's him, layered with "ah ah" and live main vocal.
