RANKED CHOICE VOTING!
With Goober's vote change, we now have a perfect 3-way tie with all voters accounted for. Seeing as how a runoff won't work under these circumstances, I hereby announce ranked choice voting to determine categories for the alt round.
How this works is simple: in addition to the category you already voted for as your first choice, you will now like the post indicating the category that is your second choice. For instance, since my second choice is Soft Singing, I will like Tetra's post advocating for that category.
(Technically this isn't actual RCV implementation but since all the first choice votes are tied anyway it's functionally equivalent).
You have one day - until 11:59 EST Tuesday, January 17- to get your second choice votes in. From there, the categories with the most likes will prevail, as per usual.

So uh forgot to post this earlier but we shall be voting on categories for Round Eight: the Second Chance Round! Every earlier category that had some measure of support, but did not ultimately end up getting in is eligible. They are: {Poll Open Until 27 Jan 23:59 EST} Best A Cappella Singing: Singing without instrumental accompaniment. The singer can be accompanied by other voices, however. Best Backing/Harmony Singing: A passage sung while harmonizing with another vocal part. There can be more than one of these, naturally. Best Distorted/Harsh/Heavy Singing: Singing that makes use of distortion, grit, screams, growls, or any other "heavy" technique. Best Lyricless Singing: Singing while not uttering words, but using nonsense sounds and vocalizations. Best Sustained Low Note(s): A performance focused on holding one or more low notes (relative to the singer) for an extended period of time. Best Usage of Vibrato: Singing that favours tremolo of the voice in order to add, for example, emotion, richness or gravitas to the performance. Best Vocal Ending: A passage that ends the song's vocal part. Best Vocal Opening: A passage that starts off the song's vocal part in a way that is interesting or impressive.
