{Non-Native Singing: Alison Moyet - "Je Crois Entendre Encore"}

1:40 - 2:57. Alison spans E♭3 - B♭4, but in French. I have no idea what she's singing about, although she manages to employ her voice in such a way that I still definitely sense drama of some kind.

{Emotional Singing: Sade Adu - "Pearls" San Diego 1993}

1:56 - 3:37. There is a lot I could say about clips in this category and especially this performance. Simply put, first note Sade's complete loneliness on the stage. There is no one to hold her up and she must manage alone. Sprinkling fry at the starts of certain phrases to convey emotional and physical pain, building up to full-on belts of desperation and reflecting hoarsely in the breathier moments, Sade's whole performance - down to the setting - evokes an image as lonely as the woman she is singing about. She also spans G3 - C♯5.
