Years Active (2014- Present) Vocal Range: G2- E5Voice Type: Canadian Sufjan Stevens Associated Acts: Peach Pit (2016 - Present) E5 (" Not Me" D5 (“ Vickie” Instagram Live 2020B4 (" Seventeen") Bb4 (" Last Days of Lonesome", " Look Out!" " Thursday") A4 (“ Chagu’s Sideturn”, " Hot Knifer") G♯4 (" Pepsi on the House", “ Sweet FA”) G4 (“ Adidas”, " Drop the Guillotine", “Here Comes Your Man” Live in LA 2018, “Johnny B. Goode" Live at Bonnaroo 2019 " Thursday", "Shampoo Bottles", " Up Granville", "Vickie", " You and Your Friends") F♯4 (" Camilla, I'm at Home", " Everything About You" " Lips Like Yours" " Live at the Swamp" “ Private Presley”, "Seventeen") F4 ("Drips on a Wire, "Figure 8", " Last Days of Lonesome", " Look Out!", " Second Life with Emily", "Up Granville") E4 ("2015,", "Adidas", “Black Licorice”, "Brian's Movie," "Drop the Guillotine", “Feeling Low (F*ckboy Blues)" "From 2 to 3", “Hot Knifer”, “Lips Like Yours”, “Not Me”, "Peach Pit", "Psychics in LA", "Puppy Grin", “You and Your Friends”) Significant Low Notes: E♭3 ("Camilla, I'm at Home", "Second Life with Emily", " Seventeen") D3 (“Feeling Low (F*ckboy Blues)", “Here Comes Your Man” Live in LA 2018, "Private Presley", "Puppy Grin", "Tommy's Party", "Vickie", Look Out!) C♯3 ("Everything About You", "Give Up Baby Go," “Live at the Swamp”, “Sweet FA”, "Techno Show") C3 (“Being So Normal”, “Shampoo Bottles”, “Up Granville”) B2 ("Pepsi On The House", "Psychics in LA", "Sweet FA") A2 (" Drop the Guillotine" 2016 Version) G2 (" Drop the Guillotine" 2016 Version) Neil Smith is an odd challenge to place. In all of Peach Pit’s Catalogue, Neil prioritizes a pleasant and melodic tone over any difficult vocal passages. While he is most likely a tenor, that was only really obvious through their live performances (most notably the band's cover of "Johnny B. Goode.") His priority of comfort lends very nicely to most of the easy listening of their 1st album, with him limiting his lead vocals most heavily on that album. On Lp1 there is some interesting stuff going on in the backing vox (like the buried falsetto E5's in "Not Me,") but the lead vocals never go above E4. By their second album, Neil was beginning to experiment with falsetto tone production as well as moving closer to the Mid 4th octave. Neil has continued to slowly start experimenting with his higher range, with the single “Look Out” from their new album featuring multiple sustained F4’s. The song Pepsi on The House sees Neil strong as ever hitting some impressive G♯4’s in the chorus of the song. As the level of vocals has improved, we can only hope to see even more experimentation in the future. Questionable Notes ....................................................... Blue marks falsetto notes. Underlines mark notes that are obscured in the song mix. Italics mark non-melodic notes. Boldface marks notes that are considered to be particularly notable examples of this person's vocal capabilities. Attachments:neil.jfif (5.9 KB)

Hey everyone!! This is my first thread and it's by no means close to completion, but I thought it was high time to at least post it :)

Heyo! This is a good start! Pitching all seems good from what I can tell, which is obviously the most important part. Here are just a few things that I think would help make the thread look a bit cleaner. 1. For falsetto, instead of just choosing a shade of blue from the color wheel, what you can do is use the standard blue by entering this code: In practice, it should look something like this: "Seventeen" 2. I'd personally recommend embedding the thread pic in the code rather than as an attachment. That just requires you have an image link. The code in this case would look something like this:
3. In the case of your questionable notes, if you don't have any you don't have to worry about creating the spoiler. If you do have some, though, the spoiler code would look like this:
{Questionable Notes}insert questionable notes blah blah blah
Here are some other minor aesthetic things I noticed that may help: - Remember to add the closed parenthese on each note section. I notice the E5 and D5 sections don't have that. - The B♭4 section is in need of a proper flat symbol. -Bolding the title of each note section may help the sections look a bit more differentiated. - There's a bit of inconsistent punctuation, like a missing quotation mark on the "Drips on a Wire" note in the F4 section, a missing comma following the "Johnny B. Goode" note in the G4 section, and a mix of smart quotes (“”) and straight quotes (""). Most threadmakers here prefer straight quotes but ultimately that's up to you. I just reckon having a mishmash of both of them probably isn't the most aesthetically pleasing option lol. Anyhow, that's my spiel. I want to reiterate that on a research level this is looking quite good! Always good to have new threadmakers in the fray.
