Andrew Roy Gibb (5 March 1958 - 10 March 1988)
Associated Acts: Bee Gees
Voice Type: Shadow Dancing Tenor
Vocal Range: G♯2 - G5
{Vocal Summary}Andy Gibb. The supposed other brother from the Bee Gees who was never actually part of them to begin with. Despite this, while recording his solo work, Andy was actually more successful than the band at the time, known for songs such as "I Just Want to Be Your Everything" and "Don't Throw It All Away."
All of these songs were accompanied by the butter smooth voice Gibb brought to the table. Unlike his brethren, Andy had a much silkier tone than Barry's coarse-toned falsetto or Robin's often creased shaky chest voice. Definitely having a much smoother tone than either of them. However, just like his brothers, he absolutely refused to go above G4 in chest voice, even though he is most definitely a tenor. This definitely left some untapped potential for Gibb's upper register, usually leaving it to his smooth falsetto. However, despite some untapped potential in his chest voice, damn that falsetto sounds awesome doesn't it. Seriously, Andy's falsetto sounds absolutely transcendent in the right situations, songs like "Don't Throw It All Away" proves exactly why this is absolutely necessary in terms of his smooth sounding songs.
Overall, yeah he was a pretty good singer man, absolutely excellent voice for some slow dancing songs that you'd want to just chill to, and yet another soul who was lost too soon.
